The Rainbow Plantation B & B is located on a tropical and lush 3 acre former macadamia and coffee farm with beautiful ocean views.
It is easy to find right of the highway, between Captain Cook and Kealakekua, yet it’s a quiet and peaceful hideaway with many birds and a large variety of tropical plants, flowers and fruit trees.
We are conveniently located close to the islands best swimming and snorkelling, and right next to a hiking trail that leads to the famous Captain Cook monument. Down in the bays you can rent kayaks and swim and snorkel, often with dolphins ! All only 5-10 minutes away. In Honaunau bay, also called two-steps, is the old Hawaiian City of Refugees and national park. Kailua-Kona town is only 15 minutes away and the airport a quick 40 minutes. This dry side of the island promises more sunshine and less rain showers, with the best beaches nearby to enjoy it all on.
After a healthy and relaxing breakfast, we love to tell you about all the good spots to go to (and avoid) and are happy to give travel advice. We can also help book tours and help you plan and optimize your stay here on the island.
